Anti-inflammatory effects of exercise on arteries: mechanisms of protection against atherosclerosis and its complications

Abstract

Exercise plays an important role in obtaining and preserving physical and emotional health. Among many benefits of exercise, its anti-inflammatory effects on arteries are distinguished, as they protect against atherosclerosis and its consequences. The goal of this paper is the presentation and analysis of these effects, by reviewing current international bibliographical data. Knowledge on exercise-induced anti-inflammatory mechanisms is constantly growing.
